Buckeyes Outscore Coast Guard in Pistol & Rifle Combined Weekend

COLUMBUS, Ohio –The Ohio State University Rifle team concluded their final home competition of the fall posting a score of 4,629 against the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Saturday.
In Smallbore the Buckeyes fired a team score of 2,289 led by Sophomore Ariel Hall who fired a score of 574. She was followed closely by senior Rhiann Travis (572), sophomores Annabelle Stanec (572), and Annie Tomb (571), and senior Jacob Buchanan (568). The trio of freshmen Katie Ezell (574), Natalie Katsuyama (570), and Joel Potts (568) led the way for the individuals with all three of them firing personal best scores in Smallbore. They were followed by juniors Megan Wilcoxson and Mica Harr who both fired scores of 559. Juniors Jared Minor (558), Elizabeth Dutton (548), and Wynn Lekhavanija (539) rounded out individual scoring.
In Air Rifle Ohio State posted a team score of 2,340 with Travis leading the way with a score of 588. She was followed closely by Ezell and Hall who both fired scores of 585 while Tomb (582) and Stanec (581) rounded out team scoring. Buchanan led the way for the individuals with a score of 585 followed by Katsuyama (583), Harr (582), Lekhavanija (580), Wilcoxson (574), Minor (570), Potts (568) and Dutton (562).
"Saturday was a unique day with both Rifle and Pistol competing on the same day and we thank the Coast Guard Academy for helping to make this match happen," said head coach Ryan Tanoue. "It was fantastic to see athletes from both teams getting a chance to support each other and we look forward to doing this again in the future."
Ohio State concludes their fall season next weekend against the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
