Buckeyes Fourth after 36 Holes at East & West Match Play

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Ohio State women’s golf team finished fourth after 36 holes of stroke play qualifying Sunday at Radrick Farms Golf Club in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Buckeyes will take on UC Davis in the opening round of match play Monday morning.
Senior Jaclyn Lee had the best score through 36 holes, besting a pair of competitors from Oregon State and UC Davis by two strokes. The Calgary, Alberta, native opened with a 3-under 69 before notching a 1-under 71 in the second round. Freshman Lauren Peter tied for 17th, opening her college career with a 1-under 71 before following with a second-round 76.
Senior Niki Schroeder and sophomore Yukie Sasaki, a transfer from Houston, sat in a tie for 23rd at 5-over after tallying 76-73 finishes. Junior Adeena Shears tied for 36th at 9-over and sophomore Alanis Sakuma rounded out the Buckeye lineup in a tie for 38th at 10-over.
As a team, the Buckeyes tallied the third-most birdies on the day with 26, ranked second in par-5 scoring at 7-under and tied for second in par-4 scoring at 17-over. Individually, Lee was the best in par-4 scoring at 2-under and tied for second in par-5 scoring at 4-under. Peter and Shears tied for sixth in par-3 scoring at even-par while Sasaki also tied for second in par-5 scoring at 4-under. Schroeder had one of three eagles on the day while Lee tied for the most birdies with nine.
