
Wright Leads Buckeyes with 2-Over 73 in Opening Round of Northrop Grumman

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – The Ohio State women’s golf team sits in a tie for 12th after the opening round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Sunday at Palos Verdes Golf Club. The Buckeyes tallied a 16-over 300 in the opening round to tie with Baylor in the 12th spot.
Alex Wright sits in a tie for 19th after a 2-over 73 while Jaclyn Lee is tied for 32nd after a 3-over 74. Adeena Shears followed up with a 4-over 75 while Rio Watanabe and Sofia Seldemirova, competing as an individual, each notched a 7-over 78. Niki Schroeder carded a 9-over par 80 while Alanis Sakuma, also competing as an individual, tallied an 11-over 82.
Seldemirova bounced back from a triple-bogey on the par-5 fifth hole to record a team-best three birdies while Lee, Wright and Watanabe carded a pair of birdies each. For the round, Ohio State finished fourth in par-3 scoring at 2-over while individually, Watanabe had the third-best par-3 showing at 1-under.
