Buckeyes Complete First Day in Los Angeles for Rose Bowl Game

LOS ANGELES – Ohio State spent its first full day in California preparing for the 105th Rose Bowl Game against Washington, mixing work and pleasure amid picturesque weather conditions in Los Angeles.
The day began with a crisp, hour-long practice in spiders at the StubHub Center, which is the home to the LA Galaxy of the MLS and the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers. Considered one of the premier training facilities in the nation, the StubHub Center is also an official United States training site for the U.S. National soccer team. This week, both Ohio State and Washington will utilize the StubHub Center for all of their practices. The facility is large enough to accommodate both teams without them ever crossing paths; the Buckeyes will use the front practice fields and Washington the back.
Under clear, sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-60s, the Buckeyes went through their workout from 11 a.m. to noon with approximately 104 players taking part. Sixty of those players took the team charter out from Columbus on Tuesday afternoon with the remaining 44 joining the team from their hometowns following a four-day Christmas vacation.
Following the practice, Ohio State made it first public appearance of the week at Disneyland. Upon arrival, head coach Urban Meyer and Parris Campbell, Terry McLaurin, Johnnie Dixon and Jordan Fuller were welcomed by Disneyland Resort President Josh D’Amaro and Tournament of Roses President Gerald Freeny, with Pixar Pier in the background. From there, they spent 20 minutes with assembled media at Radiator Springs Racers. When completed, the group joined the rest of the team in enjoying the sights, sounds and rides in Disneyland. The Buckeyes arrived back to their hotel – the InterContintental in downtown Los Angeles – later in the afternoon and relaxed for the remainder of the evening.
