COLUMBUS, Ohio — The No. 8 Ohio State University women’s ice hockey team wraps up its 2018 slate against the Mercyhurst Lakers. Saturday’s game is set for a 3:07 start, while Sunday’s finale gets underway at 1:07, both games are in the OSU Ice Rink.

Parking Advisory For This Weekend
Parking is free for both games this weekend. If you encounter parking attendants when arriving for Saturday’s game inform them that you’re there for the women’s hockey game and they’ll let you park for free.
On Sunday the women’s basketball team is playing in St. John Arena at the same time that we play Mercyhurst, and the December Commencement is happening at The Schott, so our fans are encouraged to come early. Please refer to the map linked HERE for your parking needs, our fans should aim to park on the North SJA lots.
Last Time Out
The Buckeyes found themselves in the danger zone of Mankato where they split with the Minnesota State Mavericks.
Ohio State could not get anything going in the series opener, putting 41 shots-on-goal with none finding the back of the net. MSU goaltender Abigail Levy held the Bucks scoreless for only the second time all season, handing the Buckeyes a 3-0 loss.
The series finale saw a reversal of fortunes, with Andrea Braendli keeping the clean sheet as Tatum Skaggs and Sam Bouley lit the lamp on the way to a 2-0 win. Braendli finished with 27 saves to earn the second shutout of her career.

Emma Maltais leads the Buckeyes with 25 points from 18 assists and seven goals, and is tied for the WCHA points lead. She leads the conference with 1.39 points-per-game and 1.00 assists-per-game. She’s tied for fifth in the nation with 18 assists, and her point total is tied for eigth nationally.
Jincy Dunne ranks second amongst all WCHA defensemen with 15 points this year. Her 14 assists, 0.78 assists-per-game and 0.83 points-per-game lead all conference blue liners, and she’s tied for fourth place overall in assists.
Madison Field ranks third on the team with 14 points from nine goals and five assists as she continues her march toward 100 career points. The senior has 92 entering the weekend from 52 goals and 40 assists. She ranks 13th in the all-time Ohio State point rankings.
Tatum Skaggs leads the team with 11 goals. She’s tied for third in the conference in goals and is tied for fourth on the team with 13 total points.
Charly Dahlquist is also tied for fourth on the team with 13 points from six goals and seven assists.
Andrea Braendli ranks third in the WCHA with a .940 save percentage. She’s made 405 saves this season, good for fourth in the conference.

Dunne Earns WCHA Defenseman of the Month
After a stellar month on the ice, Jincy Dunne earned the WCHA Defenseman of the Month award for November. She tied the WCHA defenseman point lead for the month with seven points, all from assists. Her 1.17 points/assists-per-game led all WCHA defensemen as well.

A trio of double-digit scorers lead the Lakers with Emma Nuutinen’s 13 points at the top of the heap. Her seven goals also lead the team, and six assists are good for third. Maggie Knott comes in second on the squad with 11 points, but her eight assists lead the team. Summer-Rae Dobson rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10 from three goals and seven assists. Sarah McDonnell is the primary goaltender for the Lakers, she has an 8-3-1 record with a .918 save percentage and a 1.98 goals-against-average.
Ohio State enters the weekend with an all-time record of 2-4-0 against Mercyhurst. The teams split a series last season in Erie.
The Buckeyes found themselves trailing early on in last season’s series opener thanks to a goal from Sarah Hine, but Madison Field evened things up in the second period before Liz Schepers netted the game winner with 1:09 left in regulation to give OSU the 2-1 win.
Things didn’t turn out as well for Ohio State in the rubber match as a late offensive explosion helped the Lakers take the game 6-4. Tatum Skaggs, Dani Sadek, Jincy Dunne and Liz Schepers all scored in the game.
