COLUMBUS, Ohio — Emma Maltais has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Forward of the Week, Powered by GoodWood Hockey, conference officials announced on Thursday.
Maltais led the conference with four points over the weekend from one goal and three assists. She tallied two of her points in Friday’s series opener against St. Cloud State, and then added a pair of assists in Saturday’s game with the Huskies.
This honor caps off a nice week for the sophomore as she earned the WCHA Forward of the Month award for October on Nov. 1. She led the conference with 15 points in the first month of the season, and her new total of 19 still leads the WCHA and ranks third in the nation.
This marks the fourth consecutive week where an Ohio State player has brought home WCHA honors following Andrea Braendli winning WCHA Rookie of the Week and Goaltender of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks, and Charly Dahlquist earning the WCHA Forward of the Week award last week.
The Buckeyes hit the road this weekend for a WCHA series with Bemidji State. Game one of the series is set for a 4:07 p.m. ET start on Friday.
