DT Dre’mont Jones named to first team; DE Chase Young and SAF Jordan Fuller second team
COLUMBUS, Ohio – A total of 12 Ohio State Buckeyes on the defensive side of the ball were named to all-Big Ten Conference teams announced today by the league. Junior DT Dre’mont Jones led the way with a first-team honor on the coaches’ ballot.
Jones, from Cleveland and St. Ignatius High School, leads the defense with 12.0 tackles for loss, including 7.5 quarterback sacks. He has 36 total tackles plus five quarterback hurries. His three fumble recoveries include one for a touchdown vs. Maryland, and he also has a “pick-6” touchdown interception vs. TCU, making him the only Buckeye defensive linemen in at least 50 years with two touchdowns in one season.

Jordan Fuller, from Old Tappan (N.J.) High School, was named second-team all-Big Ten. He is among the team’s leading tacklers for a second consecutive year with 63, just one behind leader Malik Harrison. Fuller’s five passes defended include an interception Saturday in the win over Michigan.
Chase Young, a true sophomore from Marlboro, Md., and DeMatha, is right behind Jones with 11.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 quarterback sacks. He, too, earned second-team all-Big Ten honors.
Sophomore punter Drue Chrisman, from LaSalle High School in Cincinnati, earned second-team honors on both the coach and media teams. Chrisman has the Buckeyes positioned No. 1 in the Big Ten and No. 7 nationally in net punting at 41.7 yards per punt.
Named honorable mention all-Big Ten on either the coaches and/or media ballot were defensive linemen Jonathan Cooper and Robert “BB” Landers, linebackers Tuf Borland, Harrison and Pete Werner, and cornerbacks Damon Arnette, Jeffrey Okudah and Kendall Sheffield. Nick Bosa also earned enough votes to be awarded honorable mention all-Big Ten status as well.
Offensive all-Big Ten teams and individual award winners will be announced Wednesday.
