PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. — Jaclyn Lee carded a 2-over 73 to earn a share of 20th place following Day One of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The Buckeye sophomore rattled 11 consecutive pars to conclude her day as the top OSU performer.
Lee kept herself near the top of the leaderboard by avoiding big mistakes, surrounding just two bogies with 16 pars. Zoe-Beth Brake, playing as an individual, finished close behind at 3-over (74) to earn a piece of 34th in the 88-player field. Brake sunk a birdie on her 16th hole of the round to crash the Top-15 momentarily before slipping up on the final hole, settling for a double bogey.
Katja Pogacar and Niki Schroeder both contributed 4-over 75s to the team tally, each seizing a piece of 43rd place. Rio Watanabe chipped in the fourth score, posting a 5-over 76 (tied for 56th overall).
Ohio State is slotted 12th in the team standings, three strokes ahead of Big Ten rival and 16th-ranked Northwestern. The Buckeye lineup racked up 67 pars for the highest total in the field, but mustered only two birdies for the lowest sum.
