COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s soccer team fell, 4-0, against No. 2 Indiana in the semifinals of the 2017 Big Ten Tournament in front of more than 1,600 fans on a chilly and windy Friday afternoon at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. With the loss, the Buckeyes conclude the 2017 season with an 8-10-1 record.

INDIANA GETS ON THE BOARD
The Hoosiers got the 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when Cory Thomas finished off a low cross in front of the box with a sliding shot into the back of net at 16:51. The assists were credited to Trevor Swartz and Andrew Gutman.

FIRST-HALF CHANCES
Abdi Mohamed had a free kick chance in close proximity to where he scored last weekend in East Lansing. However, Indiana keeper Trey Muse was able to make the save from his knees at 9:43. After a shot by Nate Kohl was blocked, Kevin Blackwood had a free kick opportunity from the top of the 18 just sail high over the bar at 26:46. At half, shots were 8-3 in favor of Indiana.

SIEGFRIED KEEPS IT CLOSE AT HALF
Goalkeeper Parker Siegfried made a big save on a solid strike by IU freshman Mason Toye in the 21st minute. He denied Thomas Warr at 38:15 for his third save of the match and keep the deficit 1-0 heading into halftime. He finished with five saves but falls to 8-6-1 in 2017.

INDIANA SECOND-HALF GOALS
The Hoosiers jumped to a 2-0 lead right out of halftime when Andrew Gutman had an unassisted goal from 12 yards out at 46:48. In the 62nd minute, Francesco Moore scored off an Indiana corner for the 3-0 advantage. The Hoosiers collected a fourth goal in the 71st minute from a header by Austin Panchot.
