The 2016 Ohio State football team is the highest scoring through four games in the history of the program and Saturday the Buckeyes seek to keep it rolling vs. Indiana at 3:30 p.m. (ESPN) Saturday in The `Shoe.
Here is a look at all the surrounding events for the matchup with the Hoosiers.
Holler for the Hall of Famer!
Leading tackler in 1976 and 1978. Buckeye record-holder for tackles in a single-game (tied) and a single season (1978). Second all-time in total tackles at Ohio State. Not bad when your company on that list is A.J. Hawk, Chris Spielman, James Laurinaitis, Marcus Marek and Pepper Johnson; just to name a few of the greats.
At a break in the first quarter, Tom Cousineau will be honored as Ohio State’s 25th inductee into the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame. He officially will be inducted into the NFF HOF Dec. 6 in New York City. Click here for more information.
Paint it Pink
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for more than a decade, Kroger and its partners have donated nearly $30 million to breast cancer research, detection and treatment. During the last few weeks, Kroger has asked Buckeye Nation to nominate the breast cancer survivors in their lives, by submitting a photo for Kroger’s Salute Your Survivor Nomination contest. At halftime Saturday, 25 brave breast cancer survivors will stand before the 105,000-plus in Ohio Stadium to be recognized for their courage and strength. Together, we win!
Kicking Cancer!
At the end of the third quarter, we’re officially giving cancer the boot! Two contestants will attempt a field goal in the south end zone for a spot on the 2017 Buckeye Cruise for Cancer.
It’s (pre)Game Time
The 3:30 p.m. kickoff is a fan favorite, allowing for plenty of time to roam campus and take in gameday. Again, all are encouraged to arrive early and can start enjoying family-friendly activities at the FanFest area beginning at approx. noon. Skull session with the band — and the football team’s customary march through St. John Arena — will begin at 1:30 p.m. Join in on the Buckeye Walk as well from the Blackwell Hotel to St. John at 1:15 p.m.
