Members and representatives of the group will be honored at a special halftime ceremony prior to the Best Damn Band in the Land taking the field for another show-stopping performance. Click here for more on the 2015 Varsity O HOFers.
In addition to entering the Varsity O Hall of Fame Saturday, Tressel, who led the Buckeye football team from 2001-10, also is set to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in December. He will be recognized for that achievement during a first quarter timeout Saturday.
During the break between the first and second quarter, the 1975 Big Ten Champion Buckeye football team will be recognized. Led by Archie Griffin, who won his unprecedented second Heisman Trophy that season, Ohio State was ranked No. 1 in the nation for the last seven weeks of the regular season before falling to UCLA in the 1976 Rose Bowl.
Also, be on the lookout for another fun student contest following Hang On Sloopy between the third and fourth quarters.
Don’t forget to join Coach Meyer and the players at the Buckeye Walk (approx. 1 p.m.) outside the Blackwell as the team heads to St. John Arena for Skull Session and officially gets geared up for Game Day! Skull Session is set to begin two hours (1:30 p.m.) prior to kickoff. As always, FanFest – on the south lawn of St. John Arena – is a great family destination for your gameday afternoon.
