COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five Ohio State University football players have been named to the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award watch list. The award, in its 46th year, is presented by the Houston Sports Authority to the outstanding down lineman, end-to-end, either on offense or defense or linebacker.
Joey Bosa, the junior defensive end from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who was unanimous All-American last year along with being a Lombardi Award finalist, heads the handful of Buckeyes on this watch list. The others:
- Senior left tackle Taylor Decker, from Vandalia, Ohio;
- Junior offensive guard Pat Elflein, from Pickerington, Ohio;
- Sophomore linebacker Darron Lee, from New Albany, Ohio; and
- Senior defensive tackle Adolphus Washington, from Cincinnati.
Bosa’s finalist honor last year represented the 15th time that Ohio State has had a Lombardi Award finalist. Ohio State has produced a Lombardi Award winner six times, including A.J. Hawk in 2005.
