1. Is your jersey number significant?
The number 16 has always been my favorite number, because growing up I always wanted to be like my brothers and that’s the number they wore in hockey too.
2. What do you love most about hockey?
I love the people you meet in hockey and how the sport can give you so many opportunities outside of the rink. Most importantly I love all the guys I get a chance to play with, they become your second family.
3. What is the best part of playing for Ohio State?
The exposure you get while playing here is unbelievable and being part of such a great athletic program as Ohio State is a dream come true.
4. What has been your biggest improvement as a player since your freshman year?
I believe I have become more of a well-rounded player that can play in all situations.
5. What is the best thing about being a student athlete?
There are so many great things about it, but the best thing for sure is being able to play the game you love while getting an education. It doesn’t get much better than that.
6. How did you first get involved in the sport?
Through my dad and my brothers, watching them play made me want to play.
7. What has been the most challenging part of this season?
Being a part of a losing team is something new for me, so I would say that has been the most challenging part of the season. At the same time, I believe it has made our team stronger toward the end of the season and that’s what we want, to be the best team at the end of the year.
8. What are you most thankful for from your coaches?
The opportunities they have given me through all of my four years here. They have stuck with me, believed in me everyday and pushed me to be a better player and person. I am very thankful for that.
9. How do you prepare yourself before a game?
Just try to visualize a bit about what I need to do to help the team be successful. Other than that I try not to take everything so serious and have fun, because that’s what the game is all about.
10. What is your most memorable moment with the team?
The most memorable moment I’ve had here at Ohio State is back during my freshman year when we swept *ichigan at Yost Arena. It was the first time Ohio State has done that in over 20 years, so to be a part of that is something I will cherish for the rest of my life.
