Buckeyes Earn 195.250 at Big Ten Five-Team Meet – Ohio State Buckeyes

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team earned a 195.250 at a Big Ten Five-Team Meet Saturday afternoon at the Devaney Center. The Buckeyes finished tied for third with Michigan State, behind first-place Illinois and second-place Nebraska and ahead of Maryland.
Ohio State started the meet on floor exercise in the first rotation, posting a 48.450. Taylor Harrison and Alexis Mattern each posted a team-best 9.775.
The Buckeyes moved to vault in the second rotation, tallying a 49.100 to tie a team season high. Jaine VanPutten posted a career-high 9.850 while Sarah Grady and Mattern each claimed a 9.825.
In the third rotation, Ohio State notched a 48.650 on uneven bars. VanPutten again earned a career-best 9.800 to pace the Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes concluded the meet by tying another team season-high 49.050 on balance beam. Harrison posted a career-high 9.900 to tie for second while Samantha Kent also earned a career-high 9.825.
Harrison tallied a 39.125 in the all-around while Mattern earned a 39.100.
The Buckeyes travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the Big Ten Championships next Saturday. Ohio State earned the tiebreaker over Michigan State and will compete in the second session at 4:30 p.m. ET.
