Joey Bosa, senior defensive end
On making an early impact against Penn State
“I think I really showed some emotion that I hadn’t really showed all year. As a team and as a defense we we’re really feeling it on Saturday night, we were just out there having so much fun. So to make a big play that early in the game was really exciting.”
On the state of the defense
“Overall I think we played well on Saturday. There were some mental mistakes that allowed Penn State to have some big runs, but if you take those away that would’ve been a really good performance. I still think it was a good performance, but we’re never satisfied with where we are.”
On teammate Adolphus Washington
“He’s back at his spot as a three-technique, he played nose last year and I don’t think he’s really a nose guard. I’m happy that he’s playing great, I think the defensive line has been playing really well as a whole. He has all the talent in the world, no three-technique can rush the passer like he can in college football. I don’t believe there’s anyone else out there who is as quick or good with his hands.”
Billy Price, sophomore offensive lineman
On what he thought was different about J.T. Barrett on Saturday
“His poise. That’s a big time game with big time energy, and he came in, took care of the ball, executed well. And that’s something that really shows J.T.’s leadership abilities. Once we got the ball rolling he really showed that he was excited and confident.”
On the offensive line’s mentality once the offense got going on Saturday
“There’s a lot of respect to give to Penn State. They’re a fantastic defense, they’re very skills up front. But once you start moving guys around and really start getting that momentum and energy as an offense you start to see things move. As an offensive line we just got hungry and kept moving.”
On the state of the running game
“We still have some improvement to make on our execution up front, but seeing those chunk plays, those 15, 20, 25-yard plays that keep the offense rolling. Last year we had a bunch of those and that’s where it’s really starting to feel like old times.”
Jeff Greene, senior wide receiver
On what makes a good special teamer
“Knowing your job, knowing the fundamentals, and always going four to six. Wherever you need to be on the field, you need to make sure you’re in the right position. Whether it’s blocking you guy or holding him up, just make sure you have the right technique and do your job every time.”
On his decision to transfer to Ohio State from Georgia Tech
“I had other opportunities to go elsewhere, but to have the chance to come up here and be a part of something great, I couldn’t pass up that opportunity. I just wanted to be a part of the Buckeyes.”
