No. 15 Ohio State Posts 195.025 in Tri-Meet with No. 5 Michigan, West Virginia – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 15 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team tallied a 195.025 in a tri-meet with No. 5 Michigan and West Virginia Saturday afternoon at St. John Arena. The Wolverines won the meet with a 196.975 while the Buckeyes finished second and the Mountaineers finished third with a 194.175.
Ohio State opened the meet on vault, posting a 48.900. Michelle Burns and Tenille Funches each tied for third with a 9.850.
The Buckeyes moved to uneven bars in the second rotation, tallying a 48.850, as Rachel Abrams and Funches tied for the team high with a 9.800.
Ohio State went to balance beam in the third rotation, picking up a 48.700 behind Taylor Harrison’s 9.775.
In the final rotation, the Buckeyes tallied a 48.575 on floor exercise. Freshman Stefanie Merkle earned a 9.850 to tie for second on the event.
Funches posted a team-high 39.050 in the all-around while Alexis Mattern recorded a 38.950.
The Buckeyes host Iowa at 4 p.m. Jan. 24.
