ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 22 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team posted a 195.100 to finish fourth at an NCAA Regional Saturday afternoon in Athens, Ga. Michigan finished first with a 196.750, followed by Georgia at 196.375 and Central Michigan at 195.600. North Carolina State earned a 194.550 for a fifth-place finish and Rutgers rounded out the meet with a 193.750
Ohio State began the meet on floor exercise, tallying a 49.000. Melanie Shaffer posted a 9.875 Alex DeLuca and Sarah Miller each notched a 9.850.
The Buckeyes then posted a 48.900 on vault in the second rotation. Miller notched a team-high 9.825.
Ohio State then moved to beam and posted a 48.975. Victoria Aepli, Maggie Dunn, Sarah Grady and Samantha Kent each earned a 9.800.
In the Buckeyes’ last rotation, the team tallied a 48.225 on balance beam. Aepli and Shaffer each paced the Buckeyes with a 9.750.
Shaffer finished fourth in the all-around at 39.150.
