11 Buckeyes earn degrees Sunday – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A total of 11 football players, including eight current members of the 2014 Big Ten championship team, graduated with bachelor’s degrees from The Ohio State University Sunday in ceremonies held at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. The football players were among 47 student-athletes who received degrees.
Star quarterback Braxton Miller, who enrolled in classes in January of 2011, received his degree in communications. Miller, a two-time Big Ten Conference Most Valuable Player, Quarterback of the Year and Silver Football award winner, missed the entire 2014 season after re-injuring his shoulder in practice this past August.
Wide receiver Evan Spencer, who has started 28 times at wide receiver for the Buckeyes, graduated with his degree in economics. Spencer has 51 career receptions for 572 yards and seven touchdowns. Rashad Frazier, who started vs. Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game, and Joel Hale, a converted offensive lineman who has been slowed for most of this year, each graduated with degrees in family resource management.
Other current members of the team who graduated include kicker Kyle Clinton (communications), long snapper Russell Doup (marketing), former defensive lineman and tight end and now student coach J.T. Moore (family resource management) and offensive lineman Ethan Zucal (international studies).
Three former Buckeyes – Craig Cataline, Garrett Goebel and Nathan Williams – also graduated: Catline with a degree in natural resource management; Goebel with a degree in construction systems management; and Williams with his degree in communications.
Ohio State will have nine college graduates on the team at the College Football Playoff semifinal game at the Sugar Bowl. The eight who graduated today join Darryl Baldwin, who has previously graduated with his degree in marketing and who is working on his master’s in sports administration.
