Redshirt sophomore Logan Stieber and sophomore Hunter Stieber, members of the Ohio State wrestling team, were crowned Big Ten champions Sunday afternoon at Assembly Hall in Champaign, Ill. The conference title was the second for Logan, who defended his 133-pound championship and first for younger brother, Hunter, who wrestled at 141 pounds.
Women’s track and field senior Alexis Thomas earned First Team All-America honors with aneighth-place finish in the weight throw Friday at the 2013 NCAAIndoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. The Huber Heights, Ohio,product turned in a mark of 20.66m on her final attempt to earn thefirst first-team award of her collegiate career and secondAll-America recognition overall.

Behind a complete game shutout by Jaron Long and a two-home run, six-RBI day from Jacob Bosiokovic, the Ohio State baseball team topped Harvard,11-0, Friday afternoon at TicketReturn.com Field.
Bosiokovic led the Buckeyes offensively, going 4-for-5 with twohome runs, six RBI and a pair of runs scored while Wetzel, Cypretand Carroll each tallied two hits.
Aaron Gretz pushed his hitting streak to a career-long ninegames while Ryan Cypret extended his hitting streak to eight games.

Ryan Riga picked up his first career win as a Buckeye, going3.0 innings without allowing an earned run while Dempsey picked uphis fourth save of the season. Joe Ciamacco paced the Buckeyes offensively, going 3-for-3 witha walk and two runs scored in the win.

Ohio State upset No. 2 Indiana, 67-58, Tuesday night atAssembly Hall.
No. 2 Indiana was the highest-ranked opponent Ohio State hasdefeated on the road since the Buckeyes beat No. 1 Iowa 80-76 onJan. 24, 1987.
With the win, Ohio State has defeated three AP top-5 opponents inthe same season for only the fourth time in school history(2011-12, 2006-07, and 1978-79).
Deshaun Thomas led all scorers with 18 points and moved to No.21 on the all-time scoring list at Ohio State (1,470 totalpoints).
Aaron Craft contributed four assists vs. the Hoosiers and tieda career-high with seven made field goals.
Ohio State defeated Illinois, 68-55, Sunday on Senior Day at ValueCity Arena.
Evan Ravenel, Ohio State’s lone senior student-athlete, playedin his 69th game as a Buckeye vs. Illinois. Over his career, OhioState has won 53 games, captured a Big Ten regular-season title andplayed in the Final Four.
Ohio State is the only Big Ten team to beat every conferenceopponent at least once this season.
Three players reached double figures for Ohio State: Thomas (19points), Craft (14) and Lenzelle Smith, Jr. (10).
Buckeye guards Craft and Shannon Scott combined for 21 points, 15 rebounds, nine assistsand five steals.
Scott collected a career-high nine rebounds vs. Illinois.

Women’s Basketball (18-13)

Ohio State defeated Minnesota, 58-47, in the first round of theBig Ten Tournament at the Sears Centre Thursday night.
Tayler Hill scored a game-high 25 points while Ashley Adams had 14 points, eight rebounds and four blockedshots for the Buckeyes. Raven Ferguson had eight points and seven rebounds and Ameryst Alston had 10 rebounds, four assists and fivepoints.
Ohio State held Minnesota to 29 percent shooting in the second halfand forcing 16 turnovers overall.
Hill, who also had four assists and hit 11 of 14 from the freethrow line, ended the game just eight points shy of 2,000 for hercareer (1,992). Only four other Buckeyes have reached thatmilestone.
Ohio State fell, 76-66, to No. 8 Penn State in the Big TenQuarterfinals Friday evening.
Hill scored 23 points to become the fifth Buckeye player to hit the2,000-point mark. She now has 2,015 points in her career.
Amber Stokes had 18 points and five steals while Adams added 13points and eight rebounds.

No. 4 Men’s Gymnastics (6-5-1)

Ohio State posted its best team score of the season Saturdayafternoon, defeating No. 15 UIC, 439.200-409.050, at St. JohnArena.
In addition to posting their best team score for the sixthconsecutive meet this season, the Buckeyes also tallied team bestson rings (74.050) and parallel bars (72.250).
Six Ohio State gymnasts won individual event titles against UIC, assophomore Danny Steiner won floor exercise with a 15.70, redshirt juniorMichael Newburger won pommel horse with a 15.00, sophomoreDrew Moling placed first on rings with a 15.50, redshirtsophomore Jeff Treleaven won vault with a 14.95, and freshmen Jake Martin and Alex Johnson took first on parallel bars and high bar with a14.85 and 15.05, respectively.
The Buckeyes have a bye week before returning to action with a 7p.m. ET meet at No. 3 Oklahoma March 23.
No. 18 Women’s Gymnastics (5-4, 3-3 Big Ten)

Ohio State tallied a season best in a 196.850-194.300 victoryover Bridgeport on Senior Day Saturday in St. John Arena. The scoremarks the fourth-highest score in program history.
The Buckeyes opened the meet on vault, winning the event49.150-48.900. Sarah Miller won the event and paced the Buckeyes with a 9.900while Aly Marohn and Melanie Shaffer each tallied a 9.850 to tie for third.
Ohio State then moved to bars in the second rotation, posting aseason-best 49.300 to defeat the Purple Knights’ 47.850. Marohn wonthe event with a career-best 9.950 while Maddie Herr finished second with a career-high 9.875 andVictoria Aepli finished third, tying her career-best9.850.
The Buckeyes then tied their season best in the next rotation witha 49.100 to top Bridgeport’s 48.500. Miller took first with a 9.900while Herr took second with a 9.825.
Ohio State finished the meet on floor exercise, posting anotherseason high to top Bridgeport 49.300-49.050. Shaffer posted aseason-high 9.925 to win the event tallied a 9.900 to finishsecond.
Shaffer posted a career-best 39.400 to take the all-around titlewhile Marohn also tallied a career-high 39.375 to finishsecond.
The Buckeyes conclude the regular season with a 7 p.m. ET meet atMinnesota March 16.

Ohio State fell to No. 1 Minnesota in the semi-finals of theWCHA Final Face-Off, 5-0, Friday night at Ridder Arena inMinneapolis.
The Buckeyes finish the 2012-13 season with 19 victories,second-most in program history.
Minnesota advanced to Saturday night’s championship game againstNorth Dakota, who prevailed against Wisconsin earlier Friday by ascore of 2-1.
Redshirt junior goaltender Chelsea Knapp finished with 29 saves for the Buckeyes.Minnesota outshot Ohio State 34-24 in the contest. OSU finished 0-3on the power play while the Gophers were 1-3.
No. 8/11 Men’s Lacrosse (4-1)
Head Coach: Nick Myers
Ohio State dropped its ECAC Lacrosse League opener to No. 7/7Denver, 10-9, Saturday afternoon in front of 1,745 fans in JesseOwens Memorial Stadium.
Senior Logan Schuss led Ohio State with three points, including twogoals, while classmate Michael Italiano had two tallies and senior Dominique Alexander had two assists.
Freshman Carter Brown and sophomores Jesse King and Turner Evans each had two points on a goal and an assist
Senior Trey Wilkes won a team-high 15 faceoffs and had a team-besteight groundballs. Junior Greg Dutton made nine saves in the Buckeye cage, including fourfourth-quarter stops.
Ohio State outshot Denver, 38-30, in the game. Dutton ended withnine saves in all 60 minutes. Denver’s LaPlante picked up the win,playing the first 30 minutes and making eight saves and allowingfive goals, while Faus had 10 stops on 14 shots in the secondhalf.
Ohio State won 16-of-23 faceoff attempts, with Wilkes winning15-of-21. Ohio State had the edge in groundballs, 26-20, led byWilkes with eight.
Ohio State will play its next three games on the road, startingwith a contest at Virginia Saturday. The team will then play atNotre Dame March 20 and at Bellarmine March 23 before returning toColumbus to host back-to-back ECAC games vs. Loyola March 30 andHobart April 6.
No. 13 Women’s Lacrosse (3-3)

With six-point games from sophomore Jackie Cifarelli and junior Cara Facchina, along with four goals from sophomore Jennifer Porretto, the No. 15-ranked Ohio State women’slacrosse team downed Canisius, 16-5, Sunday afternoon in JesseOwens Memorial Stadium.
The Buckeyes (3-3) led by just one at halftime (5-4), but outscoredthe Golden Griffins (2-3), 11-1, in the second half for thenon-conference victory.
Kelsea Ayers ended the day with two goals and an assist forthree points, while Kaila Gottlick had two assists and Mary Kate Facchina scored twice.
Ohio State will play its next three games on the road, beginningwith a game at Boston University Saturday. The team will then openits ALC schedule with games at No. 2 Florida March 23 and No. 4Northwestern March 27.
Pistol

Ohio State had a bye weekend; the Buckeyes return to action atthe National Collegiate Pistol Championships in Columbus, Ga.,March 12-14.
Rifle

The 2013 NCAA Rifle Championships, held at Converse Hall andFrench Field House on the campus of the Ohio State University, cameto an end Saturday afternoon.
West Virginia took home the gold, winning its nation-best 15thnational title with a two-day total score of 4679. Senior PetraZublasing captured both the smallbore and air rifle individualchampionships, becoming the first to sweep the individualcompetions since 2001. Zublasing won the smallbore championshipwith a combined score of 688.3 and the air rifle championship witha 701.7.
Amanda Luoma, a junior at Ohio State, was the lone Buckeyecompeting in the NCAA championship field. The Cortland, Ohio nativefound success in Friday’s smallbore competition, shooting a 580(99-99-93-96-99-94), which put her into the individual final. Inthe final Luoma fired a 94.2 and finished with an eighth-placefinish.
Luoma also competed in the air rifle competition Saturday,finishing 41st overall with a score of 579.
Softball (12-7)
Head Coach: Kelly Kovach Schoenly
Ohio State swept day one at the Miken Invitational, defeatingMaryland, 10-9, before downing Radford, 5-2, Saturday in CollegePark, Md.
Against Maryland, sophomore Alex DiDomenico started for the Buckeyes and received a nodecision, throwing 3.1 innings, allowing four earned runs and fivestrikeouts. Redshirt junior Melanie Nichols threw the next three innings, allowing one hitand three earned runs. Junior Kasie Kelly also had an appearance of the Scarlet andGray.
Olivia O’Reilly led the Buckeyes to a 5-2 victory over Radfordin game two in College Park, Md. The OSU sophomore pitcher posted acareer-high 15 strikeouts to improve to 4-3 overall, scatteringthree hits in seven innings of work against the Highlanders.
O’Reilly, a native of Sylvania, Ohio, becomes just the fourthpitcher in Ohio State history to post at least 15 strikeouts in agame and the first since former Buckeye Jamee Juarez had 16strikeouts in a win over Minnesota during the 2004 season.
Offensively, the Scarlet and Gray was guided by sophomore Taylor Watkins, who went 2-for-4 with a double, run scored andtwo RBI, while junior Leesa Gresham was 1-for-3 with a three-run home. FreshmanCammi Prantl and junior Melissa Rennie each had two hits as well.
Ohio State split the final day at the 2013 Miken Invitationalhosted by University of Maryland in College Park, Md. The Buckeyesfell to Iowa, 8-0, in six innings in game one before rallying todefeat St. John’s, 4-0, in game two at Robert E. Taylor Stadium.Ohio State finished the tournament with a 3-1 record.
The Buckeyes will continue their spring break trip this weektraveling to play George Washington at 1 p.m. Wednesday beforetaking on Towson at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Ohio State senior Chris Fallon earned First Team All-America honors in the milewith a sixth-place finish in the championship race Saturday eveningat the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Copley, Ohio, product turned in a time of 4:02.28 to capturethe second first-team award of his collegiate career (DistanceMedley, 2012). Fallon is only the second miler in Ohio Statehistory to earn All-America honors at the indoor nationalchampionships (JeffSee 2008, 2010).

In addition to the Stieber brothers, seven Buckeyes – Nikko Triggas, Ian Paddock, Josh Demas, Mark Martin, Nick Heflin, C.J. Magrum and Andrew Campolattano – qualified for the NCAA championships,which will take place March 21-23 in Des Moines, Iowa.
As a team, Ohio State finished fourth with 109.5 points. Penn Statewon its third consecutive Big Ten tournament title with 151 points,while Minnesota was second with 139 points. Iowa rounded out theTop 3 with 133.5 points.
Ohio State witnessed two upsets by the Buckeyes in the firstsession of the 2013 Big Ten Championships Saturday at Assembly Hallin Champaign, Ill.
The Scarlet and Gray sat in fourth place with 47.5 points followingpigtail and quarterfinal action behind wins from eighth seedIan Paddock and sixth seed Josh Demas.
Paddock beat No. 1 Eric Grajales, 7-4, in the 149-pound bracket andat 157 pounds, Demas followed with a 5-1 double overtime win vs.No. 3 Dylan Alton of Penn State.
In addition to Paddock and Demas, three other Buckeyes in No. 1Logan Stieber (133 pounds), No. 1 Hunter Stieber (141 pounds) and No. 4 Andrew Campolattano (197 pounds) advanced to thesemifinals.
Nikko Triggas (125 pounds), Mark Martin (165 pounds), Nick Heflin (174 pounds), C.J. Magrum (184 pounds) and Kosta Karageorge (HWT) vied for a third-place finish afterdropping to wrestlebacks.
No. 9 Men’s Volleyball (14-3, 7-1 MIVA)

Ohio State kicked off the weekend with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-17,26-24) win over Grand Canyon Friday night in Phoenix.
Sophomore Michael Henchy notched a match-high 16 kills and finished witha .500 attack percentage. Redshirt sophomore Andrew Lutz totaled 14 kills, while senior Chen Levitan had nine.
Libero Brennan Anderson finished with a match-high 15 digs and seniormiddle blocker Grayson Overman tied a career-high with three solo blocks,while adding a block assist for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State closed out its series at Grand Canyon with another 3-0(25-21, 25-14, 25-15) sweep of the Antelopes Saturday night inPhoenix.
Levitan led the Buckeyes with 15 kills and added three blockassists in the win. Lutz totaled 10 kills, while Henchy hadeight.
Overman and John Tholen totaled three blocks apiece, while Anderson had amatch-high nine digs.
Ohio State returns to St. John Arena to host non-conference rivalPenn State March 16. The Buckeyes and nationally-ranked NittanyLions will face off in 7 p.m. ET match and admission is free.
