COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ten more Ohio State football players – past performers and those from the 2011 team – received their bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University Sunday in commencement exercises at Ohio Stadium.
Ohio State’s football players were among a university-record 10,642 individuals who received degrees and certificates at the ceremony. Ambassador Susan E. Rice, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, delivered the commencement address in front of approximately 50,000 guests.
Among the spring quarter graduates are two – punter Ben Buchanan and safety Zach Domicone – who will be members of the 2012 team as fifth-year seniors. Two-year starting linebacker Andrew Sweat received his degree in marketing and Jake Ballard, a starting member of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants, also received his degree, in sport and leisure studies.
The 10 new graduates increase to 23 the number of Ohio State football players who have received their degree during the 2011-12 academic year.
