COLUMBUS, Ohio – Having raised more than $25,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus, the sixth-edition of the annual ‘Buckeyes Got Talent’ competition will be held Tuesday, May 8 at 7 p.m. in St. John Arena.
Presented by the Student-Athlete Advisory Board and sponsored by McDonalds, all proceeds raised by the talent competition will directly benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus. Tickets are available for $5 at the door or $3 in advance at the Ohio State ticket office or at OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
Although subject to change, teams performing in this year’s show include men’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, rifle, women’s track and field, cheerleading, men’s golf and women’s cross country. Members of the Boys & Girls Club will also be performing a step show routine.
Former Ohio State football player Antonio Smith and Scoonie Penn, formerly of the men’s basketball team, will serve as talent judges, while former women’s basketball player Beth Howe is set to emcee the competition which last year raised $11,400.
At the 2011 installment of the talent show, the fencing team earned the ultimate bragging rights with their ‘Michael Jackson Revival Tour,’ while men’s volleyball and football’s Evan Blankenship took second and third place, respectively.
