Lara Dickenmann to Play in Champions League Final – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Buckeye Lara Dickenmann has helped Lyon to its third-consecutive UEFA Women’s Champions League final after defeating Potsdam by a 5-1 aggregate score in the semifinals. Lyon will take on Frankfurt May 17 at Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany.
Dickenmann tallied a goal in the 55th minute of a 5-1 win over Potsdam in the first leg of the semifinals April 15 before the clubs played to a scoreless draw in the second leg April 22. The midfielder has recorded three goals and a pair of assists in the six games of the tournament phase. A native of Switzerland, Dickenmann scored a goal in last year’s 2-0 win over Potsdam in the Champions League final.
Dickenmann, who played at Ohio State from 2004-07, is tops on Ohio State’s career assist list with 35 and second with 89 points. A second-team NSCAA All-American in 2004 and a two-time All-Great Lakes Region selection, Dickenmann led the Buckeyes in assists all four seasons and tallied a team-high 13 goals in 2004.
