Attention Buckeye Nation! Looking for more ways to stay up-to-date with the latest Ohio State happenings? Check this out! Every Friday, OhioStateBuckeyes.com features one of the many Ohio State athletic Twitter accounts to follow. The Ohio State men’s and women’s track teams kick off the two-day 2012 Big Ten Indoor Championships today in Lincoln, Neb., and both are today’s #FF: OhioState_MTRK & OhioState_WTRK
The Ohio State women’s track & field team enters the meet as the No. 10 team in the country and the defending conference champions. Winning the meet last season for the first time in program history, the Buckeyes will look to seniors Christina Manning, Shaniqua McGinnis, Kelcey McKinney and Maggie Mullen and others for big points throughout the competition.
The Buckeye men travel to Lincoln as the 13th-ranked team nationally and look to improve on last year’s fifth-place finish. All-Americans Matt DeChant and Max Mays rank among the top 10 nationally in the weight throw, while a trio of Buckeyes in Heath Nickles, Michael McCarty and Cory Kunze are among the nation’s top competitors in the heptathlon. Senior Thomas Murdaugh will look to take back his 400m dash title after winning it in 2010.
