Thomas Named First Team Sporting News All-American – Ohio State Buckeyes

Ohio State’s junior forward, Deshaun Thomas, has been named a part of Sporting News’ 2013 Preseason First Team All-America squad, the publication announced Monday.
Even though Thomas wasn’t the Buckeye’s star, or defensive marvel or most enthusiastic shooter last year, he quietly put together a great sophomore season. And now, with some of Ohio State’s 2011-12 stars gone, there are plenty of offensive possessions available for Thomas.
Sporting News’ College Basketball awards are decided on by the Sporting News editorial staff in consultation with coaches and scouts around the country.
