No. 18 Ohio State Posts 195.175 at No. 10 Michigan – Ohio State Buckeyes

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 18 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team fell to No. 10 Michigan, 195.500-195.175, Friday evening at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor.
Ohio State began the meet on bars, recording a 48.525 team score. Alyssa Marohn posted a team-high 9.800 while Taylor Jones recorded a 9.725.
The Buckeyes then moved to vault, finishing with a 49.125 as the Wolverines had a 98.325-97.650 lead after the first two rotations. Marohn led the team once again with a 9.875 while Jones posted a 9.850. Colleen Dean and Sarah Miller each recorded a 9.825. The score for Dean tied her career high.
Dean, Jones and Melanie Shaffer each tallied a 9.800 on floor exercise to help the Buckeyes to a 48.850 team score in the third rotation.
Ohio State concluded the competition on balance beam, topping the Wolverines 48.675-47.950. Dean led the team with a 9.825 while Miller, Shaffer and Nicole Krauter each recorded a 9.775.
Dean finished second in the all-around with a 38.950.
The Buckeyes open the 2012 home slate against George Washington at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. John Arena. Admission is free.
