Preseason practices have already begun for a handful of fall sports and with an Aug. 17 exhibition on the horizon, this week’s focus is Ohio State men’s soccer: OhioState_MSOC.
The Buckeyes return to the pitch this season ranked No. 15 in the NSCAA preseason poll following a third-round appearance at the 2010 NCAA Tournament. A total of 24 student-athletes were active on the first day of camp Wednesday, 21 field players and three goalkeepers. Under the direction of 15-year head coach John Bluem, Ohio State faces eight teams from last year’s NCAA Tournament, including defending national champion Akron, national runner-up Louisville and national semifinalist Michigan, all in a nine-day span.
The Scarlet and Gray takes on Wright State in a 7 p.m. exhibition match at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium Aug. 17.
