Boren, Chekwa Named to Rivals.com All-America Team – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Seniors Justin Boren and Chimdi Chekwa, members of the Ohio State football team, were named to Rivals.com All-America Team as second team selections. Boren was selected as a first team All-Big Ten offensive guard, while Chekwa was recognized as a first team All-Big Ten cornerback on defense this season.
Boren, a native of Pickerington, Ohio, helped the Buckeyes rush for 219.7 yards per game, which is 14th in the country. With Boren in the trenches, Ohio State is 11th in the nation in scoring offense, posting 39.4 points per game in 2010.
Chekwa, a native of Clermont, Fla., has played a major role on a Buckeye defense that ranks second in total defense (250.5 ypg), fourth in rushing defense (94.3 ypg), fourth in pass defense (156.25 ypg), third in scoring defense (13.3 ppg) and is tied for third in turnover margin (+1.17). Chekwa leads the team with three interceptions this year to go along with 42 tackles and two forced fumbles.
The Buckeyes will be making their sixth consecutive BCS bowl appearance in the Allstate Sugar Bowl vs. Arkansas at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 4 in New Orleans, La.
