COLUMBUS, Ohio — Lifelong Buckeye fan and IndyCar Series driver Graham Rahal gave Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel the chance to take a “quick trip” from the Woody Hayes Athletic Complex to the OSU Golf Course Monday morning for the Buckeye Boosters golf outing. Tressel was the passenger in a special two-seat version of the IndyCar. Rahal, a New Albany resident, will be driving the #02 McDonald’s car for Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing in the Honda Indy 200 presented by Westfield Insurance at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course Sunday, August 9.
Rahal, the youngest race winner in IndyCar Series history when he won the 2008 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg at age 19, became the youngest pole winner in IndyCar Series history by earning the top starting position at St. Petersburg. The son of racing legend Bobby Rahal, Graham will return to his home track Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on August 9 for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio presented by Westfield Insurance. Tickets for the event are available by going to www.midohio.com or calling 1-800-MIDOHIO.
