Buckeyes Tabbed 11th Most Improved Team in 2009 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After the biggest turnaround in program history, the 2009 women’s soccer Buckeyes were ranked the 11th most improved team in the country by somissports.com. The Buckeyes posted a 14-4-2 record in 2009 after finishing 8-10-2 in 2008.
By the calculations of Somis Sports, Ohio State garnered a rating of 1.36, just behind 10th place Mississippi at 1.38.
Senior midfielder Ashley Bowyer was named a third-team NSCAA All-American, leaving Ohio State ranked fifth on the career assists list with 16. In addition to the All-American honor, Bowyer and junior defender Cassie Dickerson were named first-team All-Great Lakes Region while senior goalkeeper Lauren Robertson was placed on the third team. The Buckeyes were also honored with an NSCAA Team Academic Award, posting a team grade-point average above 3.0.
