Happy Thanksgiving from the Ohio State men’s basketball team as its members reflect on holiday memories from their childhoods, as well as favorite dishes and, of course, what they are thankful for.
David Lighty, junior guard/forward
“I’m thankful for my family because they’re always there for me and have my back. I’m thankful for my friends and teammates and being here on earth and alive … My favorite part of the meal is anything that my grandmother cooks.”
Dallas Lauderdale, junior forward
“I’m thankful that I’m a child of God and have family and friends that care about me. I’m thankful for being alive and for everybody in this world … My favorite part of the meal is spending time with my family. It doesn’t matter what the food is.”
William Buford, sophomore guard
“I’m thankful for being with my family, having a good time and talking about the old times … They keep me humble. I’m thankful for my teammates. They are a part of my family.”
Jon Diebler, junior guard
“I remember being with all my relatives coming together and everyone eating dinner at the table. We mix it up every year. We don’t always have thanksgiving at my house. I just enjoy having all my cousins and my brothers around. I don’t get to see them that much … It’s tough around the holidays because you never know when my brothers and I will have practice. I know my mother does but you really cherish the times you have with everybody. I’m most thankful with having all my family home safely and being able to see everyone. And all that food.”
P.J. Hill, senior guard
“I’m thankful for being safe. I also thank God for my family and everybody who believes in me and supports me … My favorite part of the food is dressing and cranberry sauce. Not real cranberries though.”
Dustin Reynolds, junior forward
“I’m thankful for God and family … My favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner is pecan pie.”
Eddie Days, junior guard
“I’m thankful for family and the chance to be on this basketball team … My favorite part of Thanksgiving is the food and seeing family that I haven’t seen all year.”
