Official Ohio State Athletics Facebook Page Moves Past 200,000-Fan Mark – Ohio State Buckeyes

Buckeyes prove to have Best Fans in the Land in cyberspace too
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The official Ohio State Buckeyes Facebook fan page topped the 200,000-fan mark Oct. 29.
Milestone fan numbers have increased on a consistent basis as it roughly took just 75 days to move from 150,000 to 200,000. On Aug. 15, the page reached the 150,000-fan mark and has added an average of more than 500 fans per day since that date.
The page, which was started in August 2008, has fans spanning across the United States and in 19 additional countries. The site also is viewed in 19 foreign languages.
As expected, Columbus – home to OSU’s campus – has the most fans of the official Ohio State athletics Facebook page with more than 25,000 as of Oct. 27. Top cities outside Ohio include Dallas and Houston at more than 2,500 and Atlanta at just more than 2,000 as of Oct. 27. Canada (6,000-plus), Turkey (1,200-plus), Italy and Indonesia (800-plus) have the most fans outside the United States.
Ohio State’s Facebook page allows fans and visitors to view news, videos and photo galleries of Buckeye athletics events. The page also affords fans the opportunity to offer comments on Ohio State postings.
