OSU Lantern – It’s been four years since Ashley Bowyer and Lauren Robertson first put on an Ohio State uniform. Now, with just two games remaining in the regular season, the only two seniors on the Buckeye women’s soccer team are looking to go out with a bang.

For a change, he doesn’t have a roster chock full of newbies. For a change, his starting center didn’t move on to the pros. For a change, when he looks at his players he’s not met by freshmen with blank stares and nervous smiles. The Buckeyes are hardened veterans, with almost everyone from last year’s team back including a couple of players who weren’t able to play because of injury or because they were sitting out a year after transferring.

OSU Lantern – The Ohio State men’s hockey team (2-4-0) stays on the road to compete against the No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3-3-0) in a two game series Friday and Saturday. The Irish are the defending CCHA regular season and tournament champions. After losing the first game of a two-game series against Lake Superior State last weekend by a score of 3-2, OSU had to find a way to rally back in the second contest.

Only the most ardent followers of the Buckeyes knew who he was. After Martin’s performance against Minnesota on Saturday – seven carries for 75 yards, including a 39-yard burst for a touchdown that had him dragging a couple of defenders into the end zone – some are comparing Martin to Ohio State legend Keith Byars. Byars had almost 3,000 yards rushing while leading the Buckeyes in the 1983 and 1984 seasons.

Seven carries, 75 yards and one touchdown later, the redshirt freshman has completed his transition from the Glenville High School defensive line to the Buckeye backfield.
