Football Award Winners – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio The OhioState football coaching staff has selected its weekly award winners for outstanding play in the 26-14 win over OhioUniversity.
Cornerback Malcolm Jenkins was the Buckeyes’ defensive player of the week, with an interception, three tackles and a tackle for a loss. Dan Herron, who rushed for 50 yards and a score, was the offensive player of the week. Shaun Lane, who recovered a fumbled OU punt return, was the player of the week on the special units..
Scout team champions were: Offense: Ross Oltorik; Defense: Nate Oliver; Special Units: Joe Gantz. The “Attack Force” award went to defensive lineman Lawrence Wilson; Alex Boone won the Jim Parker offensive lineman of the week award. The Jack Tatum Big Hit of the week was not awarded this week.
OhioState (2-0) visits Southern Cal (1-0) Saturday for a 5:20 p.m. Pacific game at the Los Angeles Coliseum that will be televised by ABC.
