Buckeyes improve three spots from 2006-07 campaign
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State finished 11th in the final 2007-08 Division I U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup standings released Thursday. The Buckeyes spent the majority of the athletics season in the Directors’ Top 5.
Ohio State totaled 1,034.75 points in 2007-08 and improved from a 14th-place finish in 2006-07. Stanford won the Directors’ Cup for the 14th year in a row with 1,461 points.
Ohio State scored 195 points in the fall behind No. 2 finishes by football and men’s soccer. The winter total amassed 479.75 after the fencing team won the NCAA title. Men’s lacrosse and men’s tennis fronted the spring drive of 360 points.
