Football: Update From New Orleans – Ohio State Buckeyes

Team hears Bobby Bowden Friday and practices outside at Tulane; Cordle among many Buckeyes utilizing academic support center
NEW ORLEANS It was another full day of activities for the Buckeyes in New Orleans Friday as the team continued preparations to face LSU Monday in the BCS national championship game.
The day began with Ohio State and LSU joining at the Hilton for the annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes breakfast, where Florida State coach Bobby Bowden spoke to the two teams who will meet Monday night in the Superdome.
Following Coach Bowden’s comments, a press conference at the nearby Marriott featured Ohio State defensive coordinators Jim Heacock and Luke Fickell, defensive backs Malcolm Jenkins, Anderson Russell and Kurt Coleman, linebacker Marcus Freeman and defensive lineman Doug Worthington.
Temperatures warmed into the 60s, giving the Buckeyes a chance to practice outside Friday afternoon for two hours at Tulane University in New Orleans.
Saturday is media day at the Superdome. LSU will be available for the media from 9-10 a.m., followed by Ohio State from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The Buckeyes will then practice at the New Orleans Saints facility immediately afterwards.

Ohio State center Jim Cordle’s work day was only half over when practice ended Friday. If preparing for LSU was not enough, Cordle had a homework project to submit online that was due Friday afternoon.
