Peter is here so we will go ahead and begin. |
Dan:Worthington: |
Are you pleased with the fan support at OhioState games even though the season has been kind of a disappointment? |
Peter:: |
The fans are picking up and are getting behind us. That is helping our team out. Even though we haven’t had the success that we would like, our fans are still behind us. Hopefully, we can start putting the W’s up for them. |
Jared Bartone:Cincinnati, OH: |
As a freshman, what goals have you set for your team and yourself over the next few years? Can us Bucks expect to see you play in the “Frozen Four?” |
Peter:: |
We are setting our goals high because we have a strong freshman class, as well as a strong upperclassman group staying. Hopefully, a visit to the Frozen Four is in our sights but we have to take it one game at a time. |
Cherie:Chicago, Ill.: |
How would you describe your hometown? What do you miss the most? |
Peter:: |
My hometown is full of trees and a lot of cows because it’s a farming area. I miss my mother’s home cooking the most. |
Trey:Dublin, Ohio: |
What was the most difficult thing to get used to about college life? |
Peter:: |
Time management. You have to deal with school, sports and homework. You have to allocate enough time to studying, sleeping and making sure you stay healthy for the season. |
Greg:Detriot, Mich.: |
You’ve had a lot of opportunity to play this season, were you expecting to see this much ice time? Have you enjoyed it? |
Peter:: |
I came into the training camp knowing I had to earn my ice time so I came in, already in shape. I think the coaches have a lot confidence in my ability when they put me out there. I try to bring offense to our team and I’ve enjoyed being out there. Now, I’m working on my defense to become a better collegiate hockey player. |
Jessica:Columbus, Ohio: |
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you while playing? |
Peter:: |
One time going out to warm-up, I forgot to take off my skate guards and bit the ice. I was ready to stride and just hit the ice. Also, in prep school, I got a pass from an opposing guy and it hit my stick and went in my team’s goal. |
Laura:Cincinnati, Ohio: |
What’s a hidden talent of yours? |
Peter:: |
I’m a pretty good dancer to Hip Hop/popular music. |
Andy:Delta, Ohio: |
Who’s your favorite NHL player? Why? |
Peter:: |
Sidney Crosby would probably be my favorite. I like the way he approaches and plays the game. |
Zac:Toledo: |
During the offseason, how do you stay in shape? What kind of conditioning do you do? |
Peter:: |
To stay in shape, I have a group of guys I work out with and try to get on the ice as much as possible. I lift a lot of weights but also do a lot of sprints and long distance cardio. |
Steve:Columbus: |
Why did you choose to come to OhioState? |
Peter:: |
I was looked at by a lot of East schools and ECAC schools but I came to OhioState because the atmosphere around the program and the type of people I met felt right to me. I saw really good things in the hockey program’s history and I think there are a lot of good things coming for this program still. I’m happy to be a part of it. |
Madison:LewisCenter: |
What’s been your favorite road trip so far this season? Who is the toughest CCHA team to play against? |
Peter:: |
Alaska was the best trip. Even though it was a tough trip to play because of the long travel and time change, we took a lot of fun trips to the pipeline, an ice hotel and the hot springs. It really helped the team bond. |
Peter:: |
The toughest team we faced this year was MichiganState because they are very disciplined. They don’t give you many chances offensively and they have the ability to put away games quickly if you’re not into it. |
Mike:Columbus: |
What is your favorite thing about playing for OhioState? |
Peter:: |
We get to play in one of the country’s top facilities and OhioState has a strong history behind it. The coaching staff is great to play for and I enjoy playing with my teammates. |
Eric:Dublin: |
You scored the gamewinning goal with barely any time left last weekend. You seem to have a few of those this season. Have you always been clutch? |
Peter:: |
I just try to find a way for our team to win and fortunately, I have been given the opportunity to capitalize on them this season. |
Ann:Columbus: |
How is it playing on a team with so many freshmen? |
Peter:: |
It’s been a lot of fun because you have a bunch of guys going through the same things you are. But we have great upperclassmen who have been there for us and have showed us the ropes. We have a tight group this year and I think that will help us down the line. |
Ryan:Columbus: |
Who do you consider your closest friend on the team? |
Peter:: |
Overall, the team is very close. There’s a bunch of us that hang out when we have time to relax and play Jetman on the computer. |

That’s it for Peter. Thanks for all the questions. |
