Rewind to Sept. 8, 2001: Coach Tressel was on the sideline for his initial game as Ohio State head coach and the opponent was … the Akron Zips. Tressel’s Buckeyes won that game, 28-14, and under Tressel Ohio State has now won 63 of 77 games (.820). The Zips are led by coach J.D. Brookhart. He has been named MAC Coach of the year (2004) and his 2005 Zips won the MAC East Division title and the MAC Championship game.
