Ohio State Football Award Winners
Outstanding play against Washington recognized
COLUMBUS, Ohio The OhioState football coaching staff has selected its weekly award winners for outstanding play in the 33-14 win at Washington.
Tailback Chris “Beanie” Wells was selected as offensive player of the week, and defensive back Donald Washington earned the Buckeyes’ defensive player of the week award.
Punter A.J. Trapasso was the player of the week on the special units for the second consecutive game.
Scout team champions were: Offense: Dan Herron; Defense: Brett Daly; Special Units: Zach Willis. The “Attack Force” award went to linebacker James Laurinaitis. Tight end Jake Ballard won the Jim Parker lineman award, and Trever Robinson had the Jack Tatum Hit of the Week.
OhioState (3-0) hosts Northwestern (2-1) Saturday in a 3:30 EDT Big Ten game at Ohio Stadium that will be televised by ESPN (and shown on local ABC affiliates in the state of Ohio).
