Taver Johnson, cornerbacks coach
On a player changing from corner to safety
“When you’re a corner, you tend to have to keep your eyes on just one guy. If you’re a safety, then you have to see the whole field and keep your eyes on everything.”
On the secondary
“We have a good number of guys that could see time. We are going to move a lot of people around. Jamario O’Neal is one guy that is going see some time.”
John Peterson, tight ends coach
On the tight ends
“We have a great deal of experience at tight end. Rory (Nicol) is in his fourth year in the system and Jake Ballard got some good playing time a year ago.”
On the offense
“It is a big change from last year. We have been running several bigger sets this year with at least two tight ends.”
Jim Heacock, defensive coordinator
On the Youngstown State game
“I have been going through so many of these home openers that they tend to blend together. Most of the time you don’t have time to think about it.”
On going against his brother, Jon Heacock, YSU head coach
“Well, I haven’t really thought about my brother being on the other side. I have been more focused on our guys and getting everything I can out of them.”
