Senior tackle shot commercial Tuesday in Chicago
CHICAGO Kirk Barton, a senior offensive tackle on the Ohio State football team, was one of 11 student-athletes to be featured in the Big Ten’s football television advertisement for the upcoming 2007 season.
Barton, an All-Big Ten performer in 2006 for the league champion Buckeyes, was in Chicago Tuesday and Wednesday for the 36th Annual Big Ten Football Kickoff Luncheon.
Barton enjoyed his first starring role in a TV ad.
“It was pretty cool,” Barton, from Massillon, Ohio, said. “It was a little weird shooting it. I put tape on my wrists and wore eye black, which I never do. There were a lot of takes, but the finished product always looks great.
“It was cool to see all that goes into making a commercial. The one last year was sweet and looked great going into the game.”
