Ball, Dickenmann, Mitchell Voted 2007 Team Captains – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Amanda Ball, Lara Dickenmann and Keiana Mitchell, members of the Ohio State women’s soccer team, were voted the 2007 team tri-captains the squad announced Thursday. All three will enter their senior seasons for the upcoming campaign.
A native of Centerville, Ohio, Ball (GSE Cardinals) has been central in helping the Buckeyes maintain their line of attack as a defensive center midfielder. In 2006, Ohio State scored 30 goals and out shot its opponents, 330-208. Ball has excelled as an Academic All-Big Ten and three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete honoree. Ball also was the team’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient.
Dickenmann (DFC Sursee), who hails from Kriens, Switzerland, has been the Scarlet and Gray’s points leader in two of the last three seasons as an All-American attacking midfielder. She led Ohio State with 38 points (13g, 12a) her freshman year in 2004 and in 2006 tied for the team lead with 23 points (7g, 9a). Dickenmann also has captured Academic All-Big Ten honors two times to complement her three Ohio State Scholar-Athlete awards.
A product of Cincinnati Country Day in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mitchell was a part of a record-setting defensive unit in 2004 as a freshman, limiting Buckeye opponents to just 18 goals for a goals-against average of 0.67. In 2006, Mitchell and the backline recorded six shutouts and held opposing offenses to 21 goals. Academically, Mitchell is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete.
