COLUMBUS, Ohio On Thursdays, it’s a helping of chicken and noodles that smothers the plate at Nancy’s Home Cooking. Are you kidding me, five bucks for a rib-sticking meal that’s going to take a linebacker to pick up?
Don’t ask for a menu. Don’t expect frills. And, of course, as the sign says in this postage stamp of a diner, “Eat it and beat it.” There’s a long line outside.
At Eddie George’s Grille 27, on High Street right at a corner of Ohio State’s campus, don’t be surprised if you get a glimpse of the 1995 Heisman Trophy winner. Or try the more established local favorite, Donatos Pizza, around for four decades.
