Steve Rehring, junior offensive lineman
On the season
“We have played well we are 6-0, but now we have to face the toughest six games of our schedule. It is not going to be easy.”
On Chris “Beanie” Wells, running back
“I know Beanie. I know he is going to gives us everything he has in any given week. I know how tough he is and his mentality.”
On Ohio State being ranked No. 3
“Every game you are going to get a team’s best shot. Every game you are going to get a look you never saw on film and you are only going to have a few seconds to adjust.”
Shaun Lane, junior defensive back
On the special teams
“We love to challenge each other on special teams. In our huddle before the kick we are always talking about who is going to get down the field first and make the hit.”
On the team
“The reason I have gotten so much better is just being around these guys. It is such a great team and everyone is always pushing you to get better.”
On waiting his turn to play
“Antonio Smith was really a guy that I watched. He waited his turn and when his senior season came he was ready.”
Dimitrios Makridis, senior long snapper
On growing as a snapper
“This is my fifth year in the program and I have learned so much from the guys that have come before me watching those guys everyday since the summer of 2003 has been great. Now it is my turn.”
On going from linebacker to long snapper
“It is a big change. I was a scout team linebacker when I first got here but after a year of that I was moved to long snapping full time.”
On the transition for high school snapper to college snapper
“In high school, most of the time no one would line-up over me and I could just run down the field. Now, I have to get my head up right away because if I don’t then I’ll get run over.”
