On the play of the tight ends
“I think we’re playing alright, Jake (Ballard) has really grown a lot. I haven’t played up to my potential, but I thought I had a good game last week. I still need to improve.”
On what he needs to improve
“I need to improve small things such as footwork and other little stuff. It’s stuff maybe a second year guy would struggle with, but I’ve been here for four years.”

On his punting during the Minnesota game
“I got a couple lucky bounces out there last week. One of them landed and bounced straight left. When you have a coverage team like we have it makes it easy, too.”
On the punt coverage team
“I play a little part in it as far as the hang time and where the ball ends up on the field, but our coverage guys have to be up there with the best in the country, if not the best in the country. So, it makes it real easy for me. We take a lot of pride in our punt team. If you want to be on it you have to be an athlete. We practice at it everyday and it shows on Saturday.”
On Purdue’s punt returners
“They have two really good returners. They’re not to be taken lightly. I don’t think it’s the best idea to challenge them and kick it straight down the field and see what happens. We respect them and we’re going to work hard to be ready for them.”

“Every win is great. It was a Big Ten win, so that was special. We practiced hard and we have an in-season list and we’re trying to accomplish our goals.”
On Purdue
“Every Big Ten game is tough. With our reputations and rivalries, we have to get ready. Do what the coaches tell us, watch film, whatever can make us better and be ready for Purdue.”
On playing at night
“It’s a little bit different. The days are a little bit longer, but it is another game and the lights will be on and the stands will be as rowdy as ever.”
On the defensive line
“We are a young group. We have a great leader in Vernon Gholston to pick us up. We all strive to get better everyday. So, as a young defensive lineman the sky is the limit. We’re still trying to get better, get that first sack. We’re still trying to get better everyday.”
