On the crowd at Purdue
“It’s a hostile environment and I’ve heard their student section is pretty crazy. It’s also a night game, so the fans will be even louder and pumped up. We have started to prepare for that this week and we better be ready to go in there and execute like we know how.”
On the Purdue defense
“I’ve looked at their tape a little, and from what I’ve seen they seem to have a fast secondary. It’s an experienced, veteran unit who can really cause problems for an offense. They’ll play us tough and they have a home crowd behind them, so it’s going to be a challenge to move the ball.”
On whether the high ranking has an impact on how the team views itself
“I don’t think our high ranking affects how we look at ourselves as a team. We know we have a lot more to accomplish, and it feels good to be recognized, but we want to end up near the top of the polls. If we lose on Saturday, it will all be for nothing.”
On the Ohio State receiving corps
“Between Ray (Small), Brian (Hartline) and myself, I think we have come together pretty well. Our main goal is to help Todd (Boeckman) out as much as possible, and I think we’ve done that a little more in every game. We have a better grip on the playbook now and we’re more confident in Todd and his ability to get the ball to us.”

On the Purdue offense
“Seeing them on film, they’re a very talented offense. They’re somebody that we’re going to have to be prepared for and study extra hard this week to try and contain their offense. We have a lot of their stats and rankings. We’re aware of how good they are.”
On not having missed tackles on defense
“It’s huge. If you miss one tackle, a 3-yard play can be turned into a 15-yard play. It’s something we have to make sure we do this week, make sure we tackle very well and limit their big plays.”
On rotating defensive players
“I think it pays off all year, but especially right now. You keep fresh guys in and you try and keep them from getting bumps and bruises. You get to see who does what and who does the best at each position.”
On the versatility of Purdue’s offense
“I think they have a lot of playmakers. They have 5 or 6 guys who can get the ball and make huge plays and that’s something that we have to try and limit.”
