| Ohio State sophomore linebacker James Laurinaitis made two game-changing plays last Saturday as the top-ranked Buckeyes beat No. 2 Texas 24-7 in Austin. Laurinaitis forced a fumble at the OSU 1-yard line that Donald Washington scooped up at the 2 and returned 48 yards to set up the Buckeyes’ first score. Then in the third quarter, he stepped in front of a Colt McCoy pass and returned the interception 25 yards to set up a field goal, giving Ohio State a 17-7 lead. Laurinaitis finished with a career-best 13 tackles and added a tackle for loss, two forced fumbles and an interception to earn Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors. |
