Ohio State Hires Chris Schneider as Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Administration – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – Chris Schneider was named assistant athletics director for sports administration at Ohio State Monday by Miechelle Willis, senior associate athletics director.
Schneider, a native of Cincinnati, returns to Ohio State after spending three years (1999-2001) as OSU’s assistant director of events and athletic tickets. For the past five years, Schneider was the assistant director of championships with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in Indianapolis.
“It’s a great opportunity to come back and work with Gene Smith, Miechelle Willis and the entire staff,” Schneider said. “Ohio State is a great place to be.”
Schneider was hired to a newly created position as a result of the department reorganization this past winter. He will oversee 8-10 athletic programs and help coaches with budgeting, scheduling, recruiting and other aspects related to the teams.
“We are excited to have Chris rejoin the Buckeye family,” Willis said. “He has strong management skills and his NCAA experience with championships, national coaches groups and NCAA championships committees will be invaluable to our coaches and our sports administrators group.”
Schneider began as a graduate administrative assistant at Ohio State from August 1997-July 1999. He then was hired as the assistant director of events and athletic tickets.
After leaving Ohio State in 2001, Schneider worked for the NCAA as a liaison for sports, including Division I men’s soccer, Division III men’s tennis and men’s ice hockey.
Schneider received his bachelors of science in sport enterprise at Bowling Green in 1997 and his masters in sport administration from Ohio State in 1999.
