Big Ten Announces Fall Academic All-Conference Honorees – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its fall term Academic All-Big Ten honorees Wednesday, with Ohio State represented by 57 selections. During the 2005-06 school year, the Buckeyes totaled a school-record 263 honorees, topping the 2004-05 record of 260.
The Big Ten recognized a total of 623 fall sports athletes. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year and carry a career grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better.
Ohio State’s 23 honorees in football paced the Buckeyes’ fall selections. Men’s soccer followed next with 10, while women’s volleyball had seven and men’s cross country posted six. Women’s cross country and field hockey both had five Big Ten academic awards.
