COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s soccer midfielder Lara Dickenmann was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 9 following a three-goal weekend against Iowa and No. 10 Illinois.
Dickenmann (Jr., Kriens, Switzerland/DFC Sursee) collected the first two of her six points against the Hawkeyes, scoring one of two goals in the Buckeyes’ 2-0 win. Dickenmann returned to action against the Fighting Illini and scored both OSU goals in the team’s 2-0 victory.
Dickenmann is tied for the team lead in goals with seven and leads Ohio State in points with 17 (three assists). This is the third time this season Dickenmann has scored in consecutive matches. The first time she completed the feat was in the Xavier (Aug. 27) and San Diego (Sept. 1) games, where she scored a goal in each contest. The second came against Indiana (Sept. 24) and Wisconsin (Sept. 29), where she again recorded a goal per game.
The Buckeyes have won every match in which Dickenmann has tallied at least one point, except Indiana. Dickenmann, who has taken a team leading 53 shots on the season, owns a shot on goal percentage of more than 50 percent (.566), as 30 of her shots have been on goal.
