COLUMBUS, Ohio: The Ohio State Department of Athletics, ONN and ESPN have reached an agreement that will allow Saturday’s football game between top-ranked Ohio State and Indiana to be televised on a delayed basis in Columbus and around the state of Ohio.
ONN will replay the game at 11 p.m. Saturday and again at 8 p.m. Sunday. The game between the Buckeyes and Hoosiers will be televised live at noon Saturday by ESPNU, which is not available in some areas of Columbus. ESPNU will provide a copy of its telecast to ONN for rebroadcast Saturday and Sunday, affording coverage to those areas that did not see the game live as well as other areas around the state.
“Our hats are off to ONN and ESPNU for making this happen,” said Ohio State Director of Athletics Gene Smith. “I certainly understand the preference of our many great fans is to see every Ohio State game live. But this provides an excellent alternative and certainly would not have been possible without the help of ONN and ESPNU.
“I want to particularly thank Tom Griesdorn at WBNS/ONN and Dave Brown at ESPN for getting this done.”
The university announced earlier in the day the game would be available live on the University Cable Systems and could be seen on channel 37 in the dorms and other university buildings.
